Slip 'N Slide

I know, I never post! Oh well.
Summer is definitely here and the boys cooled off while playing in the slip 'n slide. They had a great time!

The Big Day!

It's been FOREVER since I've posted to my blog! Sorry to all of you that ever check on my blog. I thought about going back and trying to post about things we've done over the past couple months that I haven't blogged, but quite honestly, I'm too LAZY. So I'm starting fresh with today's post.

My little baby had a graduation celebration today for preschool. All the kids looked so adorable. We just loved Caden's teachers this year and so it was a little sad to say goodbye. We are so pleased with how well Caden did and we just can't believe he is ready for kindergarten! What a big boy!

More Easter Moments

This picture was taken at an Easter party we went to the week before Easter. The boys had a great time. When Caden first saw the Easter Bunny he started crying and running across the lawn, scared silly! All the eggs he had collected were bouncing out of his bucket as he ran. Later he saw the bunny take off his "head" and some how that made it all better. I guess that is all it took for him to realize that the bunny was really a person and not a scary monster. He even sat with him for this picture.

Easter Memories

I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter. Ours was soggy but great! It's always fun to watch the kids hunting for eggs...brings back so many memories from my own youth! It's always great to get together with family and friends and celebrate the many things we all have to be thankful for.
I ate WAY to much delicious food that day. It happens every year! Everyone picks such great dishes to share with the group.
The kids all had a good time (I think.) We had about 250 Easter eggs for only 6 kids. Their buckets were overflowing! Eggs were everywhere! Time to start planning next years event....hopefully minus the rain!

I lost my hair!

I decided I needed a change. I went for a short haircut and have bangs again! It's going to take some getting used to, but I always think it is fun to change hairstyles. My motto: "It's just hair. If I don't like it, it will grow back." I never worry about a bad haircut ( OK, once I had a horrible haircut that I worried about) and I just try and let my hairstylist have fun and design a cut just for me! Anyhow, here is my newest haircut.

Good Job Trenton!

Trenton has been working hard with his karate. I love watching him progress and become more fluent with each passing month. Here is a picture of him during his most recent test to advance belt color. He is a blue belt here but after the test he advanced to blue belt with black stripe. This is called a 1/2 step and is how his school handles promotions for his age group. Once they reach age 12-13 they no longer have to promote by 1/2 steps and will be able to promote a full belt color each time. His next test will be in June and it will be for him to promote up to an orange belt. He really enjoys this sport and we are very proud of his progress!

Designer?????

Okay, you probably only know this about me if you went to my elementary school but I used to make paper dolls and paper doll clothes all the time! I had quite the paper doll empire going. I designed all of the dolls and clothing myself. All the other girls were asking me to make them some dolls and I'd spend my recesses, after school and any spare time making these silly paper dolls. Anyhow, finally my parents told me I wasn't able to do it any more unless...I SOLD THEM! I couldn't believe they wanted me to sell my creations. I think I started selling them for a quarter for a doll and 5 or 6 outfits. Finally, everyone had an "original Marnie creation" and we all started growing out of paper dolls and onto boys. When I look back, designing all those paper dolls was one of the funnest things I ever did. I was able to be creative (surprise) and I felt so proud that everyone wanted one of my creations. Maybe that is why one of my favorite shows on t.v. is Project Runway. Every Wednesday night I sit glued to my t.v. watching the new fashions walk down the runway. Next week the season will be over and I'll patiently wait for the new season to begin. If you have never seen the show, it is so much fun and encourage you to watch it (Bravo, Wed. nights.) I won't go into all the details but basically, it is a group of unknown designers who come in to compete against each other for a opportunity to show their clothing collections during fashion week. They are given all kinds of wacky competitions and asked to design clothing for unusual situations or out of unconventional materials. It's great to see what they all come up with. Pictured above you will see my favorite designer from this year, Jillian. She has some great details in her work and she always produces these amazing jackets! I don't know who will win, but my vote is definitely for Jillian. I'd love to hear if you also watch Project Runway and who you are hoping will win it all!
